I was recently sent a copy of Extraordinary by John Bevere to review. I initially thought that it would be yet another ho hum self help book, but ended up being pleasantly surprised. This book was such a joy to read! Although I did not agree with all the information presented, it was a very good book and I recommend it.
The author points out that God has a plan for all of us, not just those who are in church every Sunday, or the rich, or the famous. He has great things in store for each and every one of our lives. Bevere also talks about how we can do nothing to make God love us less, His love for all of us is unconditional. Can we do things that are not pleasing to the Lord? Well, yes we do after all have free will. But, He loves us anyway. The book also reminds us that there is no sin too big for God to deliver us from. I believe all of these are points that are good to be reminded of.
Extraordinary is filled with valid, scripture based points to ponder. He urges us to turn to the Bible to make sure any teachings, his included are Scripturely sound; I was really impressed by this. The author also shares much about his own life and struggles. The book reminds us that even though we are faced with many ups and downs in life, God wants the absolute best for us. He wants our lives to be extraordinary, and they can be!

What intrigues me is that you said you didn't agree with everything that was in the book eventhough you enjoyed it. I'd love to see what that may have been all about..

I don't always agree with what he says, but he has such wonderful insights that I love to hear about. I've only read one book by him, and we are doing it in our church. I would love to read and win his book. Please enter me. Thanks.

I guess the trick is how to figure out what leads to extraordinary. Alot lies in recognizing opportunities, and seeing your failures as stepping stones.
i like that he encourages turning to the Bible.
Hey Nessa! I'm Baaaack! As far as John Bevere's book "Extraordinary",I like the idea that he has included scriptures to back up what he says and that he urges you to read the Word for yourself. God does love us unconditionally even though we as the human race falls "VERY" (my word not His) short of the Glory of God. I really feel that this would be an interesting read, and it takes a lot for a book to peak my interest.
I am leaving my Name and URL (like you don't already know it, HAHA! because I don't want to keep getting bombarded (no offense, and I do read some of them) with everyone's comments. I wouldn't mind if they would come over to my blog too!LOL! LOL! (In case your wondering, that was a joke.) I did unsubscribe to the comment section, but believe it or not, I'm still getting comments. Hey everybody! I'm reading your mail! Ha. UH OH! It must be getting time to type up my post and go to bed, I'm getting "simple".
Hope to see you tomorrow! This is for entry #1, #2-7 to follow (blog). Hey! What's a Twitter? Just kidding, (I'll look it up).

I follow your blog already. Can't think of a catchy thing for this one. By the way, as you know my followers disappeared a few days ago. According to my dashboard, I have 4 now instead of the the 3 that disappeared, but of course I don't know who it is because I can't see them or the information. Is it you?
Nessa! I finally finished my blog and you're at the top of it. That is the Book Review comment is at the top of it. See ya (later)as its 1:35 am. This isn't making me any younger! (The late hours, I mean).
Love ya !

First of all, a Christian perspective to a motivational book is a must for me! I like the fact that he uses personal examples, too.

It sounds like a book worth reading and learning from.Great way to be motivated while still in the word.
My life has been feeling very un-extraordinary for a long time. Perhaps this book will help me gain new insights into leading a truly rewarding life. Thank you for the chance to win.
im interested in reading this book because it uses scripture to talk about finding extraordinary. most books i have seen talk about a persons individual ability to achieve, i would love to see it from a different perspective
This book interests me because I often need to be reminded of God’s unconditional love and the fact that Bevere encourages people to check all teaching against the Scripture to make sure it is true.
thanks
