Tonight we had ribs for dinner. I thawed them out, then stuck them in the oven at 250 for over 6 hours. They should've melted in your mouth, but they were pretty poor quality. Anyway, the flavor was great, which was a very good thing. You see, I had way more ribs than BBQ sauce, so for the first time ever, I made some from scratch! And it was good! I tweaked a recipe I found online and came up with this. It was delicious! This will be our BBQ sauce from now on. We almost always have the ingredients on hand and it was a snap to make. Frugal & fast, my kind of cooking!
Everything was yum, other than the macaroni and cheese. Honestly, it was so bad that I'm mourning the loss of my butter, milk, and cheese. I guess mac and cheese is something you shouldn't mess around with, but in my defense I couldn't find my tried and true stove top recipe and had to find an alternate. I did not choose wisely.
But, at least we had dessert. My wonderful neighbor Lenore brought over half a sock it to me cake. It was soooo good! Thanks so much sweetie!
Anyway, I just had to share my BBQ sauce story. If you want the recipe click here. I've started a "homemakin' blog" to chronicle my recipes, household tips, yada yada yada. Please stop on by and say hello.
